COLLAGE CLASSES

Magnolia and Magnolias Collage Class by April Holifield

Ake a beautiful Magnolia or a cluster of magnolias, size of a Fat Quarter

The choice is yours in this class.

We will use double sided fusible to cut shapes and fuse them together to create these

beautiful flowers. At the end of the class, we will have a discussion on how to finish the

creation you just worked on, so many ways to use them, like a block, Pillow or a wall

hanging and I’m sure many more uses.

NO SEWING MACHINE IS NEEDED FOR THIS CLASS

Your stitching will be done on your own in the comfort of your sewing area. This allows you

more time to work on your flowers.

Supplies

1 ½ yard of light weight double sided fusible webbing.

Scissors, fabric, sharp and pointed, also paper scissors.

Iron and Matt

A fabric marking pen of your choice or chalk pencil.

Ink pen and paper.

Fabric (the fun part)

Background is a Fat Quarter of medium value (you want to make sure your dark leaves and

light flowers stand out)

Leaves 2 Fat Quarters, 1-Dark green and 1-Medium Green

Flowers 4 x 4 small yellow or gold for center

Fat Quarter of each WHITE - OFF WHITE – VERY LIGHT TAN (Note, you also may use other

colors for your flowers, keep your fabrics in the light color range)

Flying High Collage Class

This is a design that I made on a jacket in memory of a special person. So many have

commented on it and said they saw things in the design, this has made me decide to oƯer it

in a class. My version of this design was my nephew got his wings and moved towards the

light, in my personal design I have added many things to it, which you can add your

personal items once the basic design in done. My friend said she sees an Angel looking

towards the light, so many other interpretations have come out of this. Here is your chance

to make one to express your vision. It is fun and simple, not as hard as it looks. At the end of

you assembling yours we will have simple items for you to embellish yours, or you are

welcome to bring yours to add to it. So many options in this design. The two photos are

what yours will look like when finished in class. Let us have fun and try something diƯerent.
