Membership

GSQA offers an Annual Membership Level to individuals (member-at-large or affiliated guild member) and a Junior Membership Level for those 18 and under. A special Affiliated Guild designation is also offered to quilt guilds and bees within the four-state region. Additional information about each level is included below.

Individual Memberships

The Gulf States Quilting Association (GSQA) was organized in 1984 to create, stimulate, maintain and demonstrate an interest in all things related to quilts and quilt making through community service endeavors, quilt shows, seminars, workshops, lectures and retreats. GSQA also includes a network of quilt guilds located in Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and that portion of Florida known as the Panhandle.

Becoming a member of GSQA is sure to expand your knowledge of quilting and your circle of quilty friends! Some of the benefits of joining the GSQA guild are:

Fun and informative quarterly guild meetings and programs
Workshops & classes offered in conjunction with the Quarterly Meetings or through local guilds
Various quarterly activities like Lotto Block and Charity Sew (participate in one or all - you decide!)
Quarterly Quilt Talk Newsletter
Membership Roster
Membership card that entitles you to a discount with many of our affiliates and retail stores
Discounted fees for the Biennial Quilt Show (held in even years)
Discounted fees for Quilt Seminar Workshops (held in odd years)

GSQA Membership is open to men and women ages 10 - 100+.

Annual Membership - $30.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Standard annual membership to the guild

Junior Membership - $5.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Available to individuals 10 to 18 years old. A junior member will be eligible to attend quarterly general meetings if accompanied by an adult GSQA member but not allowed to vote on GSQA matters. They will also be able to attend workshops and classes sponsored by GSQA but will be required to pay the normal class fee and must be accompanied by an adult GSQA member.

Member Facebook Group

Our Members-Only Facebook Group is limited to those that are current members of the GSQA guild. Members are encouraged to share general quilting news as well as details about upcoming local quilting events, brag on the progress of their current quilting creations and keep up with all the GSQA activities and happenings.
